KM 429 is a life project and an architecture / interior design studio . With roots prior to its formal foundation in 2013 it is made up of architects Simona Avigni and Alessio Bernardelli.
The name shows the local character and the fluid approach to the various scales and the different contexts in which it operates.
The study, through the architectural competition and the multidisciplinary approach , privileges the creative aspect of the project with a strong and constant attention to technological innovation in materials and construction techniques following criteria of environmental sustainability.
The 429 km activity is aimed at the design of private homes, retail spaces , showrooms and shops, interior architecture, industrial and executive spaces.
Since 2009 in individual form and subsequently in an associated form, but with awareness of the whole, he has obtained important private and public contracts, but also important awards and prizes in international design competitions. In particular, the studio won the first prize in the two-stage international design competition for the Centro Civico Isola Garibaldi located in the Parco degli Alberi in the Isola district of Milan, the one for the construction of the New Piazza Garibaldi and Palazzo Mari in Concordia on the Secchia and the New Arena Garibaldi in Pisa, all currently in the definitive and executive design phase.
Simona Avigni and Alessio Bernardelli graduated with honours in 2005 from the Milan Polytechnic. In the following years, teaching at the Milan Polytechnic was added to the work in other studies.
In 2009 Simona Avigni attended the Master in Yacht Design at the Politecnico of Milano developing a greater sensitivity for interior design also in the nautical sector and in 2018 she was selected for the Women Architects Award in the excellence of national and international design professionals. In 2012 the ' New Italian blood ' website included Alessio Bernardelli among the best 10 Italian architecture studios under 36 and since 2017 he has been President of the Landscape Commission for the UNESCO Municipality of Sabbioneta - MN.
They participate as lecturers at conferences and are invited as jury members of competitions.
